Prerequisites for this course:
Students must meet the prerequisites prior to applying.
- Hold CYQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Currently teaching Pilates classes on a regular basis.
Course Content:
This course is delivered through theory, practical sessions and workshops and looks at appropriate exercise prescription for the stages of ageing including:
- Osteoporosis
- Arthritis
- Muscle Imbalance
- Pilates exercises and adaptations appropriate for the older population
- Business Development
- Advanced teaching skills
Course assessment format:
- No formal assessment.
- Your tutor will evaluation your teaching throughout the course and give you feedback to develop your teaching skills.
- Workbook assessment for those wishing to gain the Specialist Pilates Instructor Award.
