Jenny Heron

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy PGCE (FE), MP/CYQ Matwork Pilates; YMCA

Jenny Heron qualified as a physiotherapist in 1996. After an initial period learning the trade in the NHS she set up her own physiotherapy clinic in Leeds in 2000. Her passion for exercise led her to take an Exercise to Music qualification and it was through working in the fitness industry that she developed her interest in Pilates

Jenny qualified with Modern Pilates in 2001 and quickly progressed to tutor on the courses, the following year. She completed a teaching qualification (PGCE) in 2004 and has been involved in the development of the current Modern Pilates syllabus of courses.

She combines her tutoring for Modern Pilates with running Physiofit, a physiotherapy practice and pilates studio in Leeds. Jenny still enjoys teaching classes, but also oversees the other instructors at her practice, where there is a strong emphasis on the use of Pilates exercise as a rehabilitation tool.
