I spent my school and college life training to be a dancer but was told I was too big (fat) to make it. Yes, I used to be a big girl! So I went to an aerobics class twice a week in an attempt to loose weight, the instructor was fantastic, she motivated me so much that I knew that I wanted to do what she did and help others.
Inspired I started training to work in the fitness industry, I had found my passion. Initially I worked as a gym instructor and aerobics teacher enjoying helping others to achieve their fitness goals. Wanting a new challenge I moved up the management ladder as well as moving to a national chain of private health clubs. As the Fitness Manager I looked after a team of Personal Trainers, Swim Instructors, Fitness Professionals as well as keeping up with my class teaching and personal training. My role developed to Deputy General Manager but I still kept my hand in PT & teaching.
After 15 years in the industry and running a club as General Manager, I decided I wanted to return back to the hands on stuff in fitness, back to my passion. I now work as a Personal Trainer & Studio Co-ordinator for Virgin Active Preston and enjoy teaching a huge variety of classes including Nike Training club & Zumba. I have also been fortunate enough to be a fitness presenter at National and International fitness conventions
Along the way I have practiced & studied Iyengar Yoga, I did this to help an injury and fell in love with it as I saw the other benefits it brought to me. After five years of Yoga training I am now very proud to be a registered Iyengar Teacher and teach both in schools and the community. I love helping people change there lives through Yoga & Fitness.
I mainly deliver the Physical Yoga & Flexi Kids courses in the UK but I am also part of the Urban Rebounding team. It’s great to wake up in the mornings and love the job I do, great variety but also stability, not many people can say “I love my job”, I can!
