My interest in fitness began at the age of 16 when I joined the Royal Engineers and completed 13 years service. As you could imagine fitness and sport were a huge part of Army Life and I represented the Army at football, rugby and triathlon competing at a high level and winning various honours.
In 1999 I decided to leave and pursue a career as a 'civvy' personal trainer. During my resettlement I completed the Diploma in Health and Fitness at London Central YMCA and completed further modules in Modern Pilates, step, circuit and aqua with Northern Fitness once I moved back to the North. I was totally inspired by the tutors in their professional, friendly approach. This motivated me to complete teaching and assessing qualifications and I now work alongside those same tutors. I am a course director for the Personal Trainer Award and some of the more specialist modules.
I also run a successful Personal Training and Modern Pilates business in the North East. I believe my down to earth approach and professional attitude contributes not only to my own clients achieving their goals but also our students developing their careers to become successful Fitness Professionals
