About Us
Professional Fitness and Education (formerly Northern Fitness & Education) have been involved in the training and education sector for 20 years. Headed up by Christine North-Minchella the company offers a wide range of recognised qualifications and CPD courses for the health and fitness industry.
We are committed to providing the highest quality training to all our customers and aspire to being the ‘provider of choice’. We aim to ensure that all our training is up-to-date and recognised by Awarding Bodies and the Register of Exercise Professionals. We follow the FIA code of Practise and have been an Investor in People for over 10 years.
The business adopts a ‘family culture’ which we believe has developed a caring and supportive team of tutors, assessors and administration staff who will help and guide you throughout your journey with us.
We work in partnership with Universities, Primary Care Trusts, Sports Development Councils, local community organisations with the prime aim of meeting their needs and providing a bespoke service. We will work hand in hand with our training partners by:
- Working together with employers to identify training issues they wish to address
- Working in partnership with employers and other key organisations to develop and deliver tailored training solutions to fully meet the business needs and objectives
- Delivering practical and relevant training programmes to meet the needs identified and delivering the training at a time that suits the employer
- Building relationships with employers and students across the fitness and health sectors to build skills and develop their workforce
- Referring employers to other training partners where we are unable to need the training needs.
- Being inclusive and providing equal opportunities for all learners
What can you expect from us?
Professional Fitness & Education are committed to providing a service that is responsive and friendly. We promise to:
- Respond to your enquiries within 24 hours.
- Ensure our team of friendly customer service advisors listen and respond to your needs whilst supporting you with information, advice and guidance.
- Be impartial and not ‘sell’ you courses but to give you advice and help to identify with you your training needs and objectives
- Identify solutions where required and design tailored bespoke training programmes to meet employers needs
- Guide learners honestly and objectively towards their goals and support them appropriately
- Provide clear and concise information to you and your employers prior to starting a training programme.
- Provide you with a team highly qualified tutors who have are educationalists, experts in their field and who have many years’ hands on experience within the sector.
- Manage the training process from your initial enquiry through to successful delivery and evaluation
What we ask of you?
We wish to ensure that the programme of training you embark upon runs smoothly for you and your employees. To help us in this process we would like you to:
- Support your employees throughout their training and allow them time to learn and study
- Allow our team of tutors and assessors access to your premises when training is scheduled
- Ensure your employees have undertaken any pre-course reading prior to attending the training programme
- Ensure that all employees fully understand the training programme they are enrolled on and the level of commitment they need to give
- Raise any concerns you have about our service or delivery either during or after the training
- Keep us informed of employees changes in circumstances especially where they may affect their ability to attend the training programme
- Ensure that your premises meet appropriate health and safety guidelines and these are adhered to.
What we ask of your Employees?
We wish the training programme to be a beneficial experience for your employees and for them to learn and grow from the experience. To help us in this we would like you to:
- Ensure all employees fully understand the training programme they have been placed on.
- Advise them to be fully committed to the training ensuring they attend and complete within the agreed timescales
- Ensure they are punctual for all training sessions
- Notify the tutor of any absences or late arrival
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Wear appropriate attire throughout the training programme
