Our CYQ Matwork Pilates course is considered the ‘gold standard’ within the industry and is an excellent foundation for those wishing to start a career in Pilates and work in a studio or begin their career as a Pilates Personal Trainer.

Prerequisites for this course:

• Currently attending Pilates classes on a regular basis or working with a Modern Pilates DVD for some time. This will ensure you are familiar with the format and style of a Modern Pilates class. DVDs can be obtained from Pure Energy www.pureenergy.co.uk or www.trainingontour.com
• Completion of the blended learning pack prior to attending the course.
• Commitment to attending 100% of the course.
• Apply for the blended learning pack prior to the course starting.

Course Content:

The course is delivered via our unique blended learning programme which enables you to study some of the anatomy at home prior to attending the course. Once you have booked we will send you all your home study materials and guidance notes. It is important that you allow yourself plenty of study time prior to attending the course. 

The first two days of the course revise the blended learning with our tutor prior to sitting the CYQ theory paper. The rest of the course focuses on the practical aspects of teaching modern Pilates Matwork class. Your tutors, who comprise of physiologist, physiotherapists and Pilates practitioners, will guide you through a combination of lectures workshops and home study.

Teachers who have undertaken training with other organisations at Level 2 and 3 and who wish to gain the Modern Pilates (CYQ) qualification, would qualify for a discount.  This acknowledges the fact that they have already paid a substantial amount of money to train and bring skills and knowledge to the course that they have already gained.  Please call the office to discuss the discounts available

Course assessment format:

• Plan, teach and evaluate a Modern Pilates session
• Undertake CYQ Level 3 Knowledge theory paper or provide evidence of Level 3 theory.
• Undertake CYQ Pilates worksheets.
• Undertake a Case Study and Progressive Programme on a client of your choice.
• Bring a 'client' for the practical assessment.

Additional Information on this course:

Please be aware that you will need to allow a minimum of 50 hours to study at home in your own time. We strongly recommend that you allow at least 4 weeks prior to the course commencing to complete your studying.

Successful completion leads to the CYQ Certificate in Matwork Pilates Level 3
