The second in our series of Diagnostic exercise courses focuses on the lower limb and pelvic area. You will learn the relevant muscle balance tests including flexibility tests and analysis of movement patterns of the pelvis and hip. With this knowledge you will be able to prescribe appropriate Modern Pilates exercises. This course will help you to understand what causes poor technique and allow you to identify muscles that may be shortened or lengthened.

Prerequisites for this course:
Students must meet the prerequisites prior to applying.
- Hold CYQ level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Currently teaching Pilates classes on a regular basis.
Course Content:
This course is delivered through theory, practical sessions and workshops and focuses on diagnostic assessment rather than injury. Areas covered include:
- Muscle balance tests.
- Movement analysis.
- Corrective exercises and Modern Pilates exercises.
- Flexibility tests.
- Muscle recruitment patterns.
- Corrective therapy.
Course assessment format:
- No formal assessment.
- Your tutor will evaluate your teaching throughout the course and give you feedback to develop your teaching skills.
- On completion of all 6 modules you will have the opportunity to gain our Pilates Personal Trainer Award. This requires you to attend a 'refresher' day and practical assessment.

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of this course.
